ROK v1.05+ ASCII/ANSI Player Ranking Bulletin Generator Version 1.00
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- ROKBull is (C) 1997, Devon Brooks, BFS
- A Freeware ROK SysOp Utility for ROK v1.05+!
- Feel Free to Distribute ROKBull to Everyone!
BFS Product Information: ROKBull
────────────────────────────────
ROKBull is a simply to use, easy to install SysOp Utility for the doorgame
Realm of Kisom, for using with versions 1.05 and above.
What does it do?
────────────────
ROKBull generates an ANSI and an ASCII file in your ROK Directory with the
rankings of the characters in your ROK game. ASCII file saving can be easily
disabled, and, vice versa, ANSI saving can also be disabled.
How do I use it?
────────────────
It's simple. Copy ROKBULL.EXE and BULLCFG.EXE into your ROK Directory. Then,
type BULLCFG.EXE. Since it's your first time running ROKBull, it will not
find the ROKBULL.CFG file, and subsequently auto-create it. It will then give
you the option to define the save path and filename for both ANSI and ASCII
saves, and give you the option to skip saving either one.
Once you've defined your paths, that's all there is to it. Run ROKBULL, and
it should create RANKINGS.ANS and RANKINGS.ASC (if they aren't disabled) in
the directory you specified. That's it! Simple enough, right?
What's it used for?
───────────────────
Over the past six months since ROK's original release, we at Blazing Fire
Software have been asked numerous times to create something that would put
the rankings of the characters into an ANSI/ASCII save file format. Now,
we have finally done so. <g>
SysOp's can use these RANKINGS.* files in many different ways. A lot of
BBS's in my area usually have an area on their BBS which displays who is
winning what game, and by how much. This is one area where it can be used.
Also, the benefit to ROK users is that they don't have to actually enter
ROK to see the character listing.
All in all, this utility can be used for some great things.
Does it cost anything to register?!
───────────────────────────────────
Heck, no! This simple to use utility is freeware. If you like it, give
me some feedback. All we ask is that if you have not registered ROK yet,
please consider doing so. -Thanks!
What is ROK, anyways?
─────────────────────
WHAT??? You haven't heard of ROK???? You're joking. Tell me you're joking.
ROK is simply the best in RPG doors out there today! If your users like
RPG's, and they're into doors, ROK is *THE* door to have on your system!
It can be downloaded from our website, www.sasknet.com/~bfs, or our ftp
site, ftp.europa.com/outgoing/DOORS/BFS (case sensitive). It can also
be FREQ'd from 1:140/129, using the Magic Name of "ROK". If you haven't
checked out ROK yet, what are you waiting for? Download the ultimate RPG
door and experience the Realm of Kisom for yourself - your BBS will never
be the same!
How do I contact you, Devon?
────────────────────────────
That is a good question! Here are some convenient ways:
e-mail: bfs@sk.sympatico.ca
netmail: 1:140/129 (FidoNet)
echomail: Frequently read Door Echos include: DOORGAMES, ON_LINE_GAMES,
BBSDOORS, BBS_DOORS, BBSDOOR_DISCUSSION (I think that's how the
areatag is), and DOORWARE.
BFS how has it's OWN FidoNet Backboned Echo devoted completely to the
support, discussion, and general information message area for ROK, Avalon,
and BFS as a whole. The tagname of the area is "ROK". This is our primary
message area for support questions, software updates, and other information.
Connect to this echo today - we'd love to have you there!
Anything else I should know?
────────────────────────────
Hmm, nope! Can't think of anything... <g>
If you find a bug <gasp>, feel free to report it to us. Other than that,
that's about it for this documentation!
Till next time!
-Devon Brooks, BFS
